Audi A7 four door hard top Cabrio
Rendered speculation: Audi A7 four-door hard top Cabriolet
Posted on August 29th, 2008 by Robert Adams | Posted under: Audi, Future/Concept
All we have seen so far is an A7 prototype in a very heavy disguise. Now Car Magazine photoshop gurus have created a rendered speculation of what the Audi A7 hard top cabriolet might look like. Even though Audi has not confirmed the A7 will come as a cabriolet it is always fun to fantasize.
A7 will be using the new A6 platform, just like the A5 uses A4 platform.
High end models will come with air suspension and the basic power will come from a 2.8-litre V6 FSI or the new supercharged 3.0-litre. Diesel engines will be offered as a 2.7-litre, and a 3.0-litre V6 with either one or two turbos. Performance model RS7 would get a twin turbo V10.
Audi A7 will most likely be available in 2010 and should offer strong competition to Mercedes CLS.

Four Door convertibles never look right to me. Also, it looks like those rear doors are way too short.

It looks good but a picture don't always tell the whole story.
Not to get off topic, but does it seem manufactures are offering big ticket and higher priced "limited" editions (new 997.2 GT3/RS, this A7 conv., Lambos new SV, and from what I understand every other car off the Ferrari line is a Scuderia) lately.

Make people think they are special and they will be glad to dump more money of you. Simple concept.
Reminds me of back in the days when I used to see a lot of Toyota 4Runner Limited Editions. I actually saw much more Limited Editions than I did regular SR5s which made me question just how limited those Limited Editions where.

You weren't supposed to feel special, you were supposed to feel limited. Now if you had a 4Runer SE...

Not really Eli, the Type-R cars from Honda were actually fairly rare at the time compared to their lower level trims. You might have seen one Type-R car for every 100 or more Integras.
