I just got to 84, 500 miles and the Check Engene Light came on!
Do I need an oil change or what?

Naw, just turn it off. Check engine lights are over rated. Have the codes read. I have a code reader if you'd like to use it.

For all that we know it could be that you just did not close the gas cap tight enough. We really need the code read and posted and we can find out what the ECU is complaining about.

This is the long story and short answer?

It was the GAS CAP! I have 84,000 miles on my
Cayenne S, 2004. I have had no major problems
(anything over $500.00). I heard one Cayenne S
in Canada, is still running with 535,000 miles!

 Were they all black too?

Chuck, was it just that the gas cap was not tightened enough or was it a faulty gas cap?
