Andrew Blair, 28, wrote his mobile phone number in permanent black marker pen on his white Porsche Boxster S just hours after he lost his £75,000 tax free job.
Driving home through rush hour traffic with "made redundant today" and "project construction manager" on the rear of his vehicle, Mr Blair prompted calls from more than a dozen potential employers.
The scene is a modern echo of the 1920s Great Depression where jobless city traders walked the streets wearing billboards and placed signs looking for work on their cars.
But his advert will not come for free. He is expecting the re-spray of his paintwork to cost £1,000.

Yeah so it cost him a 1000 to get a 75000 job in less than a day. Somehow I think he is ok with that.

| He is actually ahead. That $1000 is job search write-off and gets a new paint job on the rear bumper in the process. |

The car symbolizes he was successful at his previous job.

Well, I guess I better start sending in pictures of my car with my resume then. Maybe that will help, especially in this market.

I have a job, for the time being, but I am always looking as my job is a lot further away than I would like it to be. I really dislike the commute.

| To make you feel better Aren, I drive 100 miles a day to and from work through the dreaded 91 freeway. |

Got used to it. I just watch Netflix when I reach the congested parts of 91.
I maybe taking the metro again so I can snooze on my way back... |
