Some actual need? Yes, of course. It's to dress it up and make it look meaner/angrier/more powerful and therefore more in need of cooling air.
As far as mechanical or engineering purposes go, probably not.
But, scoops! Dude! Scoops! And a screen door for a grille. Have to get as much airflow to the A/C compressor as possible for that Bahrain/Miami/Rio cruising. Maybe that explains some of the hood vents, but like for the wheels and whatnot? Unlikely. (Edit comment) |
