Most important: Take your time. You will need to remove your needles. Your new gauge face kit should come with a needle removal tool. Between the needle and old gauge face there's hardly any room to manuver the tool. I ended up shaving off several cm from the tool to make it easier to work with. Total job time was less than 1 hour. When removing the cluster make sure you place a blanket or something to protect your dash. Very easy to mess up. GL.
Kslater- are you talking 997 or 996? The gauge faces were removed from an 08 997S. No "kit", just the face pieces. I still have yet to find info on removal- do they pop straight up / off? Do you turn them counter-clockwise then pop up? Seems like I am in uncharted territory here..
GT John- Sorry for the late reply man, this forum does not alert me when there are new posts to a subscribed thread. There is indeed some resonance around 3200 RPM that comes in and drops off. I did not find it too much for DD though. I've also not had any problems with holding a phone call, listening to tunes etc.
