Importance of PPI
Our resident blogger, John, wrote this piece about the importance of doing a Pre Purchase Inspection before you buy the Porsche.

Thanks Rich.
Part II to follow in the next day or so. Needed to put up another post for tomorrow on Porsche as the "benchmark" for all other supercars.
If anyone knows of any other Porsche blogs, could you let me know?
Thanks,
John

A good PPI is worth every penny you spend. The problem I found when I bought my Pcar, was the shop (Pcar dealer) that did the PPI sucked. I wish I had known some Pcar owners in the area that I had bought my car so I could have gotten a heads up on who to use for a good PPI.

I agree, if you have a car like a 928, which many shops are not familiar with, they can be useless except to take your money . Try to get a referral from someone that knows the cars and a shop that is familiar with your specific model car, i.e. 928, 930, 965T etc. etc. A good PPI is worth it's weight in gold

Well, besides the seemingly limitless number of horror stories from both current and past Porsche owners who chose not to conduct a PPI, it is the single best insurance policy you can get for your “new to you” Porsche. Using a qualified Porsche mechanic (independent or otherwise) to inspect your potential new purchase prior to consummating the deal can literally save you thousands in needed repairs that are not obvious to the naked eye or the inexperienced.
The number of Porsche sales via the internet is surely growing. Technology has allowed even the “little guy” to have a global presence on the internet. The days of only having one or two local options for a good quality car are long gone.

Larry is correct, find a tech who regularly services the car you're looking at, they know what at the most common repairs and are going to check those items out first.
Of course you all know fastforwardperformance does all the late models and can even plug in to tell you the history of the way the last driver red-lines the PORSCHE.....
