Mojave Mile March 6th at the Mojave Air and Space Port
I was asked to photograph/video the Mojave Mile for MKM. They have started doing the
Standing Start, Mile Run type of events. This will be their 3rd event of this type, but the
first one in California, at the Mojave Air and Space Port. My car won't be ready to run,
but I thought I'd see if any of you are going (or have heard of it)? It's being
held on March 5-6th.
Sounds like a nice safe way to see how far you can open up the car. I had a buddy asking me about top speed runs, I will froward this info to him. Thanks.
Hi George,
Good to see your post. If I wasn't already committed to the same weekend, I'd join you on the 6th. Unfortunately, gotta run south of the border. Let us know when the subsequent event will be, and maybe a group of us can join you. I'd love to know how fast my baby would do in the mile, and compare my top speed to that of my 911 friends. Keep us informed
Since I just found out last week, I didn't have much lead time
either. I was all set to go to Infineon for the Lemons race that
weekend. Oh well, I guess a paying gig is better for my economy.
It would be nice to see some of the fellow pcars owners out there.
I haven't decided if I'm going to take the GTS or the minivan.
Depends on how much equipment I have to bring, and if I'm bringing
1 or 2 assistants with me.
This is a follow up on the event, which went off quite well. There
were only 3 Porsches there, mostly Corvettes and Ford GTs, with
an assortment of other makes and models. The fastest car was
Big Red, a 69 Camaro, that hit 200.7 mph in a mile from a standing
start. The fastest bike was a Kawasaki ZX14 that hit 195.2 mph.
